This from Eric Haak:
1200 hrs today and just outside of Engine 109’s quarters. The 14th Battalion’s size-up was a 2-story ordinary furniture store, 25 x 80 with a fire on the 1st floor. The contents of the store were stacked floor to ceiling, front to back. Five minutes in, the box was requested. When I arrived, there was some fire on the second floor and companies were trying to unload the contents of the first. At 1255 hrs, the 2-11 was requested for manpower to assist the clearing out of the store. The alarm was struck out at 1330 hrs.
